Acts of Service . . . a treasure shared to enrich another

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful steward of God’s grace in its various forms.

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God.

If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 4:10-11

Have you shared your gift?

Have you served or done something for someone else lately?

At our recent “Treasures Uncovered” women’s event, we were encouraged to do and keep track of “acts of service” we have performed for others, as 1 Peter  exhorts us.

There are many things we can do for others, with the love of Jesus:

  • volunteer for a charitable organization,
  • take a meal to a friend,
  • do a good deed for a neighbor,
  • take some baking to a new mom,
  • give someone a ride,
  • and many others!

All of these are ways to use our “treasure”–the gifts God has given us–to bless others, show Jesus’ love, and bring glory to God.

Reporting or recording your acts of service may feel a little bit like “bragging”–but you can remain anonymous and it will encourage other women to serve,  provide great ideas for service, and enable us to track the service of Foothills women.  Go to the Acts of Service page to record and submit your Acts of Service online.

Share your treasure!
