Women’s Bible studies this Fall

Fall is here, and we would love to welcome you to study God’s Word with us–at various times, days and formats!

Choose the format that works best for you–whether you want to study in person or online–and the time that works best for you–on Thursday mornings, Thursday evenings, or another day of the week.

Pastor Carla is excited about all the things we are going to learn together this fall as we study God’s Word and share life together. There are many study options for you to choose from this fall. Please read through the descriptions below, noting the date and time of each class.

There you will find a video introduction to the class by the teacher and a video trailer about the study. Choose your study and register online. Sometime after Sept. 10, an email will be sent to you regarding class details, where to pick up your book (if you purchased one) and the location of your in-person classes and the Zoom link for your on-line classes.

All of our studies will begin the week of September 21-25. The number of weeks a class runs varies. Please take note of the length of the class in the description.

MONDAY EVENINGS ONLINE
Living Victoriously in Difficult Times (6 weeks)

Online Monday 7PM, Led by Leone Thomas and Carol Ariss

We all face, or will face, difficulties in our lives and our walk with God. In this study we will gain a Biblical understanding of God’s perspective of our struggles. We will discover how to respond when we find ourselves in the midst of difficult challenges and we will find hope for enduring faithfully to the end. This is a 6-week, 40-Minute Precept study that looks at scriptures all through the Bible

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS ONLINE
LORD, I’m Torn Between Two Masters: A Devotional Study on Genuine Faith from the Sermon on the Mount by Kay Arthur (10 weeks, excluding Nov. 11)

Online Wednesday 7:15-8:45PM, Led by Elke Carlson and Debbie Thul

God really does want all of us. He waits patiently with open loving arms for us to simply choose Him first. What does is it really mean to serve the King of kings with all our heart, soul, mind, body and strength? There are so many things that distract and occupy us which eventually can build treasures here on earth, instead of in heaven. What are those treasures?  We will be looking into the Sermon on the Mount to reveal the new freedom that comes from building our hopes, thoughts and dreams on heavenly things. Come explore with us, cry out to the Holy Spirit with us, to illuminate our whole beings to serve the King of kings.

THURSDAY MORNING IN-PERSON
Lord, I Want to Know You, a devotional study on the names of God by Kay Arthur (8 weeks)

In-person Thursday 9:30AM, Led by Karen Thomas

We all have a name. It’s one way people get to know us. God has many names and each one describes a trait of His. He wants us, longs for us, to get to know His names so we can stand strong and confident in a world that wants to tear us down. In this study, we will study many of God’s names and therefore get to know Him on a more personal level. Your walk with God will be transformed!

Take Courage: A Study of Haggai by Jennifer Rothschild (7 weeks)

In-person Thursday 9:30AM, Led by Karen Vine and Mandy Trask

Ever felt like life is out of control and you’re not sure how to pick up the pieces and carry on?  Feel uncertain about what is around the corner for you in life?  If so, join Mandy Trask and Karen Vine as they teach “Take Courage”, a study of the book of Haggai by Jennifer Rothschild.  This 7-week study looks at the Jewish people and their call to rebuild the temple.  The Jews felt the task was too daunting and their skills too small.  But the prophet Haggai encouraged them to take courage and trust in God and his plans.  Haggai’s words apply to us today, whatever the challenge we face.  Let’s open God’s word and together learn to live with courage and purpose.

 This little Psalm packed with much big truth is designed to give us confidence in life. Through Jennifer’s gentle guidance, we see how Psalm 23 reveals our vulnerability as a strength and our self-reliance as a myth. Quietly we are helped to gain fresh insight into God’s compassionate care for us. In a time when many of us are weary and unsure of our next steps, this beloved Psalm refreshes our trust in the Shepherd’s goodness throughout each season of life.This 7-session study includes video teaching.

It’s All Under Control: A Journey of Letting Go, Hanging On, and Finding a Peace You Almost Forgot Was Possible by Jennifer Dukes Lee (6 weeks)

You may have read that title and thought to yourself, “No it is not!”  But the truth is even in this crazy COVID season, GOD has this world and your life under control.  So you can take a breath and stop trying to hold it all together on your own.  Over this 6-week study we’ll learn more about letting go of the things we can’t control, finding the strength to hang on tighter to those we can and finally how to tell the difference. We’ll discover more about how to trust God, make wise decisions and find practical exercises and scriptural truths that guide us in living a life of surrender to God.

God of Creation: A Study of Genesis 1-11 by Jen Wilkin (10 weeks)

Online Thursday 7PM, Led by Karen Stelter and Michelle Schott

The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths as we watch God bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil – all through the power of His Word.  Join us as we revisit familiar stories and historical figures and discover deeper meanings in the text.  Through video teaching and personal study of these passages, as God reveals himself in His Word, we will gain understanding of ourselves in light of the character, attributes and promises of our Creator.
